Q&A with Jennifer Sanasie
We’re very excited to introduce our special guest and MC for tomorrow’s Klink Awards, Jennifer Sanasie, presenter & producer at News24Live
Tell us a bit about yourself and what you enjoy doing for fun?
I’m Canadian! I moved to Cape Town three years ago and have made South Africa my second home. I am obsessed with the news. My other three loves include good food, good wine and my most recent love exercise. I started exercising a lot because I’m training for a celebrity boxing match (insert dramatic pause here).
As a presenter and producer at News24 Live, I cover a range of topics ranging from lifestyle and entertainment to news. I conceptualize stories for the online platform and see them through from beginning to end. I’ve met so many amazing people with amazing stories throughout this journey, and hope to meet many more.
Are you a keen wine drinker and what is your favourite brand/label or varietal?
I am a very keen wine drinker. When it comes to wine, I don’t discriminate, I think there is a time and place for every varietal. At the moment I’m really loving Le Lude’s MCC, and I always have a special place in my heart for Steenberg’s Merlot.
In your opinion, what makes a wine farm memorable?
Great tasting wine and food! Besides the obvious, the scenery and the staff are what do it for me. Oh, and if the farm has dogs that’s a definite bonus!
Why is wine tourism (experiences beyond the cellar-door) important in the Western Cape?
As someone who wasn’t born and raised in the Western Cape, wine tourism has helped me to see and experience areas of the province I would have never normally stumbled upon. This province has so much to offer when it comes to outdoor activities, beautiful landscapes good wine and good food! When you put them all together, I think it makes us a definite winner on the global stage. Wine tourism is more than just the wine, it’s about the experience, and I think we are doing a really amazing job at giving tourists and South Africans unforgettable experiences.
